Virginia Tech LAN Mark III is coming
The Previous Two events VTLAN has held at tech prove the people wish to game. So what do we do? We join up with many of virginia tech's great gaming clubs to develop the best we have to offer. This fall VTLAN will be hosting a Massive event focusing on tournament style competition with prizes that run the gambit.
For those unfamiliar with VTLAN, we are not a single club, we are members of many clubs who come together every spring and fall to share the great pastime of computer based LAN Partying. VTLAN is registered as an official club at Virginia Tech, and students are welcome to join and participate in the decision making meeting information can be found in the VTLAN subforum in The Virginia Tech Gamer's Guild Community.
Current Plans for VTLAN MK3
Planning has begun for our first fall event at Virginia Tech and we've gotten down to business planning for a slightly more hard core event that PC gamers new and old can appreciate.
Planned Tournaments are as Follows:
Counter-Strike: Source 5v5 Single Elimination
Hero's of New Earth 5v5 Single Elimination
StarCraft: Brood War FFA 8 to 1v1 Single Elimination Bracket
Left 4 Dead 2 No Restart Escape Challenge
Counter-Strike, HoN, and StarCraft are the main event Games and will be buy in tournaments with cash pot prizes. Additional Games will be added at further dates (non buy in with sponsored prizes). Servers and additional games will be live through the full extent of the event for your gaming pleasure. Private Tournaments are allowed and encourage.
Pre Registration will be available before the end of the summer break, participants interested in attending should consider teams they wish to form ahead of time, on our community forum we have a dedicated section for recruitment and declaration of teams. Just because you don't have a CS:S 5's team doesn't mean you shouldn't try!
